Management Team
Scott
D. Carson, Ph. D., President and CEO has worked in the computer technology
field for his entire career. He has developed major software systems, and
is a recognized authority on computer storage systems. Dr. Carson is a regular
speaker at industry events and has published numerous papers in scientific journals
and conferences.
He was Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director, Technical Services
at IMS Systems, a storage systems integrator based in Silver Spring, MD. He was
Vice President, R&D at OTG Software and Chief Technology Officer at BakBone
Software. As the original founder of Tracer Technologies in 1991, Dr. Carson designed and implemented
Tracer's flagship product line, and led the
company’s engineering and technical support teams until the sale of Tracer in 2000.
Prior to that he was a member of the computer science faculty at the University
of Maryland and the University of Virginia. He recently finished a term as treasurer
of the Storage Networking Industry Association. He has served for more than 10 years as a volunteer board member at
Langton Green, Inc., a provider of residential services for people with developmental
disabilities, with six as board president.
Dr. Carson holds the M. S. and Ph. D. degrees in computer science from the University
of Virginia, and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.
William R.
Magee, Executive Vice President has served in a variety of management
and sales positions throughout his career. Mr. Magee was one of the co-founders
of Tracer Technologies, where he served as its President and CEO until Tracer’s
sale to BakBone Software. During his tenure, Tracer grew from no revenue to a profitable,
25 person organization with a global sales presence and thousands of successful
installations worldwide. Mr. Magee was a channel development manager at TotalTec
systems, and was the founder of and president of General Digital Corporation, a
systems integrator specializing in sales to the federal government.
Mr. Magee holds the B. S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of
California, Los Angeles, and served in the U. S. Air Force. He is a member
of Tau Beta Pi.
Arnold A. Dordick, Vice President, Programs has
spent more than 30 years in the human services field, with the last 20 years as
Executive Director of Langton Green, Inc. At Langton Green Mr. Dordick has
been the leader of an organization that provides residential and program services
to 100 adults with developmental disabilities. Reporting solely to Langton Green’s
board of directors, Mr. Dordick is responsible for all aspects of Langton Green’s
operation, including consumer care, staff management, finance, real estate management,
compliance with state regulations, and quality assurance. Additionally, he serves
as a liaison to state agencies, the Maryland legislature, other service providers,
and legal advocates of persons with developmental disabilities. Prior to Langton
Green, he held a number of management positions in the social services industry.
Mr. Dordick holds the
B. S. degree (1976) from Boston University and the M. S. Ed. Degree (1980) from the University of Miami.
